Christmas Knitting 2006

I started knitting for Christmas. I really should write down the list of things needed and get better organized. I always seem to have more to do than time to do it. Maybe a list with a time frame may aid in getting things completed in a more organized fashion. I'll have to sit down and get busy- but all that takes away from the actual doing.

Tomorrow is the big Craft Show- could be interesting to see what new stuff I can find. I'm looking for some beautifully turned needles. I bought a gorgous set last year, but he only had size 15. I would love a smaller size 7 or 8 set. Knitting with wood is just so much better for the soul.

Coco Bag #1000? Done

Finally able to finish my Coco handbag- it's felted and drying. I changed up the pattern a bit in order to use the yarn I had on hand. It's not as tall as the original, but it will work better for the intended person I have in mind for the bag. Pictures to follow once the drying is complete.

Now on to other projects to be done in time for Christmas- I hope!

T's Mod Log Cabin

I completed my biggest knitting project to date-a Modern Log Cabin blanket for my youngest son. I started the blanket on July 31, 2006 and it was completed October 16, 2006. I chose the colors based upon those he chose for the art in his college apartment. The yarns I used were Plymouth Galway (Orange, Dark Orange, Chocolate Brown, Green, and Cream) and Nature Spun (Grecian Olive) on size 7 needles.

The colorway turned out beautiful. My son loved how it turned out and actually makes his bed now- a first in his 19 years! The blanket turned out to be very big- Queen sized in fact. Once I started I couldn't stop until it was completed. I love how it turned out. Now my husband wants one for us- not sure I want another Queen sized blanket, but I wouldn't mind one to curl up with on the sofa!
